Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ProxiConnect platform, including our website, WhatsApp service, and mobile applications (together, the "Platform"), operated by ProxiConnect Technologies Ltd. ("ProxiConnect," "we," "our," or "us").

By accessing or using the Platform, creating an account, or booking or providing services through it, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

• Client — a user who requests or books services through the Platform.
• Artisan — a verified service provider who offers services through the Platform.
• Services — the work carried out by an Artisan for a Client (e.g. plumbing, electrical, carpentry, cleaning).
• Quote — an Artisan's priced offer to complete a Client's request.
• Supplementary Invoice — an additional charge raised by an Artisan for extra work agreed during a job.

• You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Platform.
• You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information and to keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your login and device secure.
• Artisans must complete our verification process and may be required to provide identity, skills and other documentation.

ProxiConnect is a marketplace that connects Clients with independent Artisans. We are not the provider of the Services and we do not employ Artisans. Artisans are independent contractors responsible for their own work. While we verify Artisans and facilitate bookings and payments, the contract for any Service is between the Client and the Artisan.

• Clients describe the work they need and may share their location and photos to help with matching.
• Matched Artisans may submit Quotes. A Client accepts a Quote to proceed.
• Accepting a Quote and completing payment forms a binding agreement for the Artisan to perform the Service at the quoted price.

• Payments are processed securely through our payment partner, Paystack. We do not store your full card details.
• Client payments are held by ProxiConnect (escrow) and released to the Artisan after the Client confirms the work is complete, or after the applicable auto-completion period.
• ProxiConnect charges a platform service fee, deducted from the amount released to the Artisan. The applicable fee is shown before you confirm.
• All prices are in Nigerian Naira (₦) unless stated otherwise.

If extra work is required beyond the original Quote, the Artisan may raise a Supplementary Invoice. Additional work and charges are only carried out and payable after the Client approves the Supplementary Invoice. Approved supplementary amounts are paid through the same secure payment flow.

• A Client may cancel a request at no charge any time before payment has been made.
• Once payment has been made and the job is in progress, cancellations are handled through our dispute process. Refunds, where due, are assessed case by case based on work already done and our policies.
• Artisans who fail to attend or complete agreed work may have payments withheld and accounts reviewed.

Artisans agree to:

• Perform Services professionally, safely and to a reasonable standard of quality.
• Hold any licences or qualifications required by law for their trade.
• Communicate honestly about pricing, timing and scope.

Clients agree to:

• Provide accurate job details and safe access to the work location.
• Pay agreed amounts through the Platform and not arrange off-platform payments to avoid fees or protections.

All users agree not to:

• Use the Platform for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive or harmful purposes.
• Post false reviews, impersonate others, or misuse another user's account.
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the Platform.

Clients may rate and review Artisans after a job. Reviews must be honest and based on a genuine experience. We may remove content that is abusive, misleading, or breaches these Terms.

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we verify Artisans and work to maintain a trusted marketplace, we do not guarantee the quality, safety or outcome of any Service, which is the responsibility of the Artisan.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ProxiConnect is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability arising from your use of the Platform is limited to the platform service fees we received for the relevant transaction.

You agree to indemnify and hold ProxiConnect harmless from claims, damages and expenses arising from your use of the Platform, your Services, or your breach of these Terms or applicable law.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform if you breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or for prolonged inactivity. You may stop using the Platform at any time and request deletion of your data via our Data Deletion page.

We encourage users to resolve issues through our in-app dispute process first. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the Platform. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
